To further test and improve the emergency response and disposal capabilities of laboratory safety accidents and emergencies, our university held the 2023 Laboratory Safety Comprehensive Emergency Exercise at Building 14, Park, No. 100 Haike Road, Chinese Academy of Sciences, on November 17th.
The drill revolves around coordinating cross park emergency linkage, coordinating multiple emergency forces, establishing an efficient emergency linkage cooperation mechanism, and improving the ability to respond to emergencies through collaborative operations and joint disposal. It includes four stages: emergency response to laboratory special equipment accidents, fire emergency evacuation, practical exercises on the use and extinguishing of fire equipment, and cardiopulmonary resuscitation and the use of AED defibrillators.
Zhou Fenglei, the Property Safety Operation Management Department, has served as a frontline rescue worker in the Shanghai Fire Brigade for many years. He explained to teachers and students the usage methods of fire extinguishers, fire blankets, and smoke masks, and also demonstrated the usage essentials and precautions of different fire extinguishing equipment on site
Yao Lanqing, the lifesaving supervisor of Shangke Swimming and Fitness Center, is a senior lifeguard in Shanghai with many years of lifesaving experience. He explained in detail how to use cardiopulmonary resuscitation and AED on site
More than 170 teachers and students from the School of Life, School of Innovation and Management, and Ultimate Energy Center participated in emergency evacuation drills, practical training on the use of fire extinguishers, fire blankets, and smoke masks, as well as training and operation on cardiopulmonary resuscitation and AED.
This activity was jointly sponsored by the Environmental Safety and Health Department, the Public Service Department, the General Office of the Institute of Advanced Research of the Chinese Academy of Sciences, undertaken by the School of Life, and strongly supported by Shangqin Property, Bailian Property, the Shanghai University of Science and Technology infirmary, Shangke Swimming Fitness Center and other units.
