On the afternoon of January 18, 2024, the Environmental Health and Safety Department organized a safety training for biological slicing experiments to further enhance the safety awareness and standardize the experimental operations among teachers and students. The keynote speaker was Ms. Liu Xiaoyan, an engineer from the Molecular Cell Platform of the School of Life Sciences. Ms. Liu holds a master's degree from Shanghai Medical College of Fudan University and has many years of research experience. She regularly provides training on biological slicing, flow cytometry, cell sorters, high-speed centrifuge operation, and other instruments for teachers and students. More than 40 teachers and students from the School of Life Sciences, School of Materials Science, School of Biomedical Engineering, Institute of Immunology, and iHuman Research Institute participated in the training. The meeting was chaired by Mr. Huang Jin, director of the Environmental Health and Safety Department.

 

After theoretical explanations, Ms. Liu demonstrated the operation videos, and participating teachers and students could directly schedule practical assessments. Following the classroom lectures, students took quizzes and participated in interactive lottery sessions. After class, students engaged in active discussions with the teacher.
