On the afternoon of October 12th, the Department of Environmental Health and Safety organized a workshop on Laboratory Safety Management for new (Principal Investigator) PIs, in Room S301, the School of Creative Arts. This workshop focused on introducing the University’s laboratory safety management, sharing and exchanging laboratory safety management experience, and enhancing the safety management awareness of laboratory safety leaders.
In the workshop, Vice President Ding Hao pointed out the importance of laboratory safety management in colleges and universities, and emphasized the responsibility of PIs for laboratory safety.
Director Wang Dongming of the Department of Environmental Health and Safety put forward the challenges faced by laboratory safety management in colleges and universities, and presented a case study of laboratory safety accidents. And put forward management requirements.
Professor Mi Qixi, assistant dean of the School of Physical Science and Technology, shared his experience in laboratory safety management based on his own experience.
Afterwards, Mr. Zhang Meiling from the Department of Environmental Health and Safety gave an introduction on the safety management of hazardous chemicals and hazardous waste in the laboratory, combined with the actual situation of our school.
The Department of Environmental Health and Safety will organize laboratory safety management workshops from time to time to promote laboratory safety management cultural exchanges and enhance safety management awareness and level.
