On January 21, 2021, the SPF (Specific Pathogen Free) Model Animal Platform of the School of Life Science and Technology (SLST), located on the 5th floor of Building 14, 100 Haike Road, was fully assessed and appraised by the expert groups of the Science and Economic Commission of Shanghai Pudong New District, successfully passed the evaluation, obtained the Laboratory Animal Use Permit.
The SPF Animal Facility has a total area of nearly 3,800 square meters, which mainly provides laboratory mouse breeding, genetically-engineered mouse production, and mouse-related equipment services. The approval of the Laboratory Animal Use Permit has laid the foundation for the operation of the model animal platform and scientific research services, and will provide strong support for scientific research and teaching in the field of biomedicine for Shanghaitech University.
