In the afternoon of November 19th, the 2020 ShanghaiTech University Laboratory Fire Safety Special Training was held in the lecture hall. More than 200 people of safety supervisors, laboratory manager, safety liaison officers, teachers and students attended the training.
This training was organized by the Office of General Services and the Office of Environment Health and Safety (EHS). Special lecturers from the Shanghai Oriental Grand Forum, Shanghai Campus Safety Propaganda Ambassadors, and Police Officer Zhao Jinzhen of the Shanghai Fire and Rescue Corps were invited to present the training, titled Focus on Fire Safety, Life First, Play a Scientific Role in Preventing Risks. The training session was hosted by Wang Dongming, Director of EHS office.
Police Officer Zhao demonstrated the serious hazards caused by the lack of basic fire safety concepts and common sense through thought-provoking case studies, and introduced the methods of fire safety hazard investigation and self-rescue escape, with emphasizes on the cultivation of fire safety awareness and fire emergency response, the importance of safety drills.
Through the training, everyone realized the importance of cultivating fire safety awareness and strengthening fire safety drills, consolidating and learning the correct methods of emergency evacuation and fire self-rescue escape, which played a positive role in further strengthening laboratory fire safety work and ensuring campus safety.
