The Office of Environment, Health and Safety organized the laboratory safety representatives of School of Physical Science and Technology, School of Life Science and Technology, School of Information Science and Technology, School of Creative Arts, Shanghai Institute for Advanced Immunochemical Studies (SIAIS) and iHuman Institute to watch the video conference by the Ministry of Education of 2020 University Scientific Research Laboratory Inspection Kick-start at Room 101, Administration Building.

Deputy Director of the Department of Science and Technology of the Ministry of Education, Mr. Zhang Guohui, delivered an opening speech. Director Zhang summarized the overall status of the safety on-site inspections of scientific research laboratories in colleges and universities from 2015 to 2019, and deployed related work on the safety on-site inspections of scientific research laboratories in colleges and universities in 2020, and required colleges and universities to deeply understand the importance of safety inspections and further strengthen overall Laboratory safety management and accountability, do a good job in various tasks, and persistently carry out safety education and establish a training safety culture. Subsequently, Zhang Zhaochen, Director of the Science and Technology and Industry Division of the Jiangsu Provincial Minisrty of Education, and the 2020 University Laboratory Safety On-site Inspection Team Leader Feng Jianyue, Director of the Laboratory and Equipment Management Office of Zhejiang University. Professor Lin Peng of the Department of Water Conservancy and Hydropower Engineering of Tsinghua University, has made delivered speech individually, entitled Strict Management, Constant Attention, And Continuous Efforts to Create A Safe and Harmonious Scientific Research Experimental Environment, Typical Safety Issues and Inspection Precautions in College Laboratories and Safety Management and Practice Based on Closed-Loop Control.

Through training, university’s laboratory safety management team clarified the goals and tasks. All laboratories should further enhance their understanding, clarify their responsibilities, earnestly perform their duties, and pay close attention to implementation, and effectively improve the laboratory safety management capabilities and levels of our university to ensure safety and stability of the campus.
